With the TV, communication has become cheaper, quicker, and more efficient
HANDS
The other day I was busy doing lots of little things,
And I looked at my two hands working so well,
How many nerves does it take that any action brings
To hold, to grip, use a keyboard? It is hard to tell.
I give very little thought to these great appendages
That do so many things at my thoughtless bidding.
Has everyone throughout man’s countless ages
Just used them, without any great thanks giving?
The best way to thank God above for this gift
Is to do worthwhile things, work hard for a living,
Offer them in friendship, give a weary soul a lift,
Clasp them reverently in prayer every evening.
Hands are so useful when they do good, kindly deeds,
But hands that do evil and beckon people astray
Are hands that are ashamed, for a hand needs
A loving heart, to help many others each day.
I pray that my hands will serve others and work
Hard all my days, hands that speak kindnessIn every action they make, hands that never shirk,
Hands doing the Master’s will, hands that bless.
I am so glad that I have hands that can moveAnd help those who are not so abundantly blessed,
I hope my hands actions will always want to prove
That God is my maker and they serve Him the best.
